Paddle Screen

Wet corn milling for liquid-solids separation and for refining of solids by particle size
Product Group:
Screening Filtration Systems
Function:
Dewater fibrous slurries and separate coarse solids
Available Models:
PS-32, MZSA-1350S, Tri-Di Separator

Overview

The FQ-PS32 Paddle Screen is a high-capacity dewatering system, designed to operate under varying speeds and loads for liquid–solids separation and particle size refining. Widely used in wet corn milling, it provides a reliable alternative to pressure screens for:

  • Fiber washing
  • Fiber dewatering
  • Germ washing

Benefits

Optimized Separation & Dewatering

  • Provides efficient separation of fiber, germ, and water, ensuring higher product purity.
  • Maintains consistent throughput under varying loads and speeds.

Flexible & Customizable

  • Adjustable speed, rake clearance, and number of rakes to fit diverse process requirements.
  • Multiple screen openings allow precise tailoring to customer needs.
  • Can be configured to integrate seamlessly with existing systems.

Easy Maintenance & Operation

  • Large inlets/outlets minimize plugging.
  • Quick access to internal components simplifies servicing.
  • Stainless steel design ensures long service life with minimal downtime.

Compact & Durable Design

  • High-strength construction provides reliable performance.
  • Compact footprint saves valuable plant space.
  • Built for continuous operation in wet corn milling environments

Key Features

  • 304 or 316 stainless steel construction
  • Adjustable paddle clearance and machine speed
  • Large inlet and discharge chutes to reduce plugging
  • Multiple screen opening sizes
  • Serviceable screens, cages and internals
  • PS32 single-screen configuration
  • MZSA-1350S dual-screen, dual-liquid-discharge configuration
  • Tri-Di three-stage screen arrangement

Operating Principle

Slurry enters a cylindrical screen while rotating paddles press and move the solids along the screen surface. Liquid and fine particles pass through the screen openings, while retained fibers or coarse solids are conveyed to discharge. Multi-stage models can add wash water between screening zones.

Other Details

  • Applications: Fiber washing, fiber dewatering, germ washing, corn wet milling, food processing and wastewater solids removal.
  • Process role: Can be used as an alternative to pressure screens where high-capacity, low-shear paddle separation is preferred.
