Operating Principle

Conditioned sludge enters the screw press and moves through a cylindrical screening zone. As the screw conveys the solids toward the outlet, gradually increasing pressure forces free water through the screen. A pneumatic back-pressure cone controls resistance and cake formation at discharge.
