Overview

The Rotary Drum Vacuum Filter is a continuous, automatic filtration system for filtration, clarification, cake washing, extraction and dewatering. A rotating drum covered with filter media is partially submerged in slurry while vacuum draws liquid through the cloth and retains solids as a cake.

Each system is configured around the material, filtration rate, cake behavior, washing requirement and selected discharge method. Sigma Equipment supports equipment selection, system integration, spare parts and field service.

Operating Principle

The drum rotates through the slurry while vacuum draws liquid through the filter cloth and internal filtrate channels. Solids form a cake on the drum surface, which can be washed and further dewatered as the drum rotates out of the trough. The selected discharge mechanism removes the cake before the cloth re-enters the slurry.
