Overview

Komline Disc Mills — Engineered for Exceptional Grinding Performance

Komline Disc Mills are built for exceptional grinding performance in wet corn milling. Designed to minimize vibration and wear, these mills deliver extended bearing life, reduced maintenance costs, and unmatched operational stability. With multiple single- and double-disc configurations available, the FQ Series supports a wide range of grind rates and applications — from first grind through third. Sigma Equipment Supply & Services provides full-service support, retrofitting, and spare parts availability for all models, including custom integration into new and existing process lines.

FQ-152 Series — 52" Single Revolving Disc Mills, Engineered for Every Stage of Wet Corn Grinding

Built to handle the toughest demands of the wet corn grinding process, the FQ-152 Series delivers two powerful configurations to match your operation's needs.

The FQ-152E is the high-capacity workhorse, engineered for heavy-duty performance across the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grind stage. Directly driven by up to 1000 horsepower (746 kW) and capable of speeds up to 1800 rpm, it's built for producers who need maximum throughput without compromise. An automatically controlled lubrication system keeps cooled oil circulating evenly to the tapered roller bearings around the clock — minimizing wear and maximizing uptime.

The 152B delivers the same rugged reliability for 1st and 2nd grind operations, running at up to 900 rpm through a belt-drive system powered by up to 350 horsepower (261 kW). Its grease-lubricated bearings are virtually maintenance-free, requiring attention only during annual service — less downtime, lower labor costs.

Whether you need the raw power of direct drive or the proven simplicity of belt drive, the FQ-152 Series gives you a mill engineered to perform, built to last.

Benefits

  • High-Efficiency Grinding for Fiber Separation Engineered for corn wet milling and starch production, disc mills deliver precise, high-shear grinding that ensures effective fiber-cell wall breakdown and optimal germ, fiber, and starch separation.
  • Consistent Particle Size Distribution Adjustable grinding gap and rotor/stator configurations allow for controlled and uniform particle sizes, enhancing downstream separation efficiency and overall process stability.
  • Robust Construction for Demanding Operations Designed for continuous, high-load applications, the disc mill features heavy-duty materials and wear-resistant components for long-term durability in abrasive environments.
  • Low Maintenance with Quick Access Design Easy access to grinding plates and internal components allows for quick inspection, cleaning, and replacement, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.

Key Features

The FQ-152 Grind Mill is a 52-inch single revolving disc mill, engineered for high-capacity, heavy-duty operation in the first, second, or third stage of the wet corn grinding process.

Operating Principle

Slurry is fed between a rotating disc and a stationary grinding surface. The adjustable plate gap applies controlled shear to open the corn structure and release starch for downstream germ, fiber and starch separation.
